For those about to rock…

Wow!  It is hard to believe that it is convention time again.  I am looking forward to an amazing time in NYC and I am thrilled to be one of the “official bloggers” for the convention.  That convention happens in the summer is fortuitous for me.  At the start of every year I take time to evaluate where I am, both personally and professionally.  I then proceed to establish a vision for what I want the up-coming year to look like.  Part of that vision typically includes deciding upon some areas of business development, clarifying what my major marketing objectives for the year will be, and setting bold booking and revenue goals.  I am typically very excited and energized to embark upon the year and see my vision come to fruition.  And then the real world of travel, paperwork, meetings and all the business of running a business begins and before I know it, time has flown by.  I am confident most of you can relate.

That is why I am thrilled that convention happens mid-year.  It is a great time for me to “check-in” with myself (and my amazing Director of Client Services, Aimee) to see how we are doing with respect to the vision established at the start of the year.  I can’t wait to learn new tools and techniques that will help me fulfill my goals and objectives.  I’ve spent time recently pondering the state of my business and the vision I have for 2008.  I know where my gaps are in terms of achieving my vision and I am on a very deliberate “hunt” for those things that will help me move from where I am now to where I want to be at the start of 2009.   I know by this time next week I will have valuable action items to incorporate into my business.  Thanks, in advance, to all of you who are sharing of your time and talents in order to make this convention a success.  And especially, thanks to Eric Chester who has already created so much energy and enthusiasm around this convention – and we are just getting started.
